AC/DC Appears To Be Teasing Announcement Of First Tour Dates In Eight Years
AC/DC is gearing up for a massive global stadium tour in 2024, marking their grand return to the stage after seven years. The tour excitement began with the confirmation of their first European tour date, set to take place at Munich Stadium in Germany on June 12. The announcement came with a hint of surprise as Munich’s mayor, Dieter Reiter, unintentionally revealed the news, suggesting that it wasn’t meant to be public just yet. This tour not only brings the legendary rockers back to their enthusiastic fans but also hints at a comprehensive world tour that could include a spectacular performance at the 2024 Rock In Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro next September.
Adding to the anticipation, AC/DC released a teaser video that sent fans into a frenzy. The video, showcasing the band’s iconic lightning bolt logo followed by the words “Are You Ready,” accompanied by a snippet of their 1990 song with the same title, has fueled speculation about the upcoming tour. The band’s last major tour was in support of their 2014 album “Rock or Bust,” during which frontman Brian Johnson had to step down due to hearing loss, with Axl Rose filling in for the remainder of the tour dates.
However, after consulting with a hearing specialist, Johnson rejoined AC/DC for the recording of their latest album, “Power Up,” and performed at the Power Trip festival in Indio, California, in October 2023, their first concert since the end of the “Rock or Bust” tour in September 2016. Rumors also suggest potential concerts in Brazil as part of this tour, with reported performances in São Paulo and at the Rock in Rio festival, although these have yet to be confirmed.
For fans around the world, this tour represents a long-awaited opportunity to see AC/DC live, bringing back the high-voltage energy and timeless hits that have defined their legendary status in rock music.
