Danny Wood Sr., a close acquaintance of Abbott, shared the news of his demise, as noted by Blabbermouth: “It’s with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear friend Jerry Abbott,” Wood Sr. stated. “He passed away last evening in a caregiving facility in Denton. A private funeral service for family and close friends is being organized, with plans for a public memorial to be announced shortly.”

Jerry Abbott was instrumental in the early success of Pantera, having produced the band’s initial three albums: ‘Metal Magic’ in 1983, ‘Projects In The Jungle’ in 1984, and ‘I Am The Night’ in 1985.
